Honda R&D Europe, in collaboration with 3DiTALY, Formlabs, DamA Academy and Autodesk, launched the contest “HONDA MEETS FABLAB” on November 22nd.

The initiative aims to activate a dialogue between Honda R&D Europe (Italy – Rome) and the Fablab world in terms of creativity and co-design, to improve the travel experience of the motorcycle riders.

The aim of the contest is the creation of a smart device that can improve driving conditions and in general the user experience of HONDA motorcycles. The concept will, therefore, facilitate the interaction between man and machine through ease of use, the ability to connect and share information. The device can also activate the customization of some functions or aesthetic parts of the vehicle, making it unique.

Fablab from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Austria took part in the contest.
Polifactory has chosen to participate with three projects designed by the students of the TAD Master – Transportation and Automobile Design, consolidating the collaboration already in place with the master.
The Helmate project by Marco Quamori Tanzi, Gianluca Raciti and Giancarlo Temin was the winner of the contest, winning an economic prize for the concrete prototyping of the device, together with the donation of a Formalbs Form2 3D printer including a resin kit.
