Design Workshop Week: 16-20 February 2026

Design as a Bridge Between Academia and Industry.

At the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano, a week of international workshops in collaboration with corporate partners.

The School of Design at Politecnico di Milano renews its commitment to strengthening the dialogue between education and industry through a week of project-based workshops focused on emerging themes in innovation. The initiative positions design as a practical and strategic tool connecting creativity, technology, and enterprise.

Internationally renowned designers and leading companies will take part in the activities within the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Product Design and the Master’s Degree in Integrated Product Design, guiding students through intensive, industry-oriented design experiences.

The 2026 edition features Daisuke Ishii, Stéphanie Marin, and Raffaella Mangiarotti in collaboration with Havells, and Federico Elli in collaboration with Piaggio SpA. These professionals and companies will bring into the academic environment their design vision, technical expertise, and real-world challenges drawn from the global market.

More than 120 international students will develop concepts for new products, services, systems, and experiences based on briefs defined together with the partner companies. The workshops offer a unique opportunity to experiment with innovation processes within a short timeframe, engaging directly with industrial requirements, production constraints, and technological opportunities.

For participating companies, the initiative provides a valuable opportunity to engage with one of the world’s leading design schools, as well as to connect with highly qualified young designers and gain fresh perspectives on product development.

Workshops have long been a distinctive element of the educational model of the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano: a setting where academia and industry collaborate to explore future scenarios, test ideas, and develop competencies aligned with ongoing transformations.

At a time when innovation, sustainability, and digitalization are reshaping the role of design, the School of Design and the Degree Program in Industrial Product Design reaffirm their role as active partners for the business community, fostering experimentation, interdisciplinary exchange, and the development of new professional profiles.
