Smart (?) Light – The brief
The aim of the workshop is to create a lighting device that is consistent with what Davide Groppi has previously created: an iconic and surprising lighting fixture, capable of astonishing through technology but that respects the designer’s key formal elements.
The objects to be created during the 5 days of the workshop Smart (?) Light, will have to investigate the wisdom, intelligence and magic that a lighting fixture can have. The solutions that can be developed can come from a careful study of light and its different forms, from interpretations of emerging needs and habits, but also from new technologies that open up unexplored horizons. Being Smart therefore does not necessarily come from the inclusion of IoT (Internet of Things) or hyper-technological materials, but also from a wise use of light.
