Cassina

Objective

The workshop, in collaboration with Cassina, aims to put students to the test by targeting a target still unexplored by the company: that of children. The proposed projects will therefore have to succeed in uniting two apparently very different worlds, that which already distinguishes Cassina, i.e. objects for adults with an iconic and elegant character, and that of objects for children, characterised instead by playful and surprising aspects.

The projects developed will have to fit into the catalogue by dialoguing with the works of the past, present and future. The historical background of the company, made up of projects such as LC4 by Le Crobusier, or Maralunga by Vico Magistretti, cannot be ignored, but this cannot preclude a glance at the future, as done recently with “This will be the place”. These aspects will have to meet and balance each other giving life to new furnishing solutions suitable for a target group ranging from 6 to 13 years old and not excluding the adult world. Interpreting the needs and habits of both will lead to exclusive and stunning new ideas.
