SPRING OF THE WALL in its double meaning of spring and jump will be the VANS event at the Fuorisalone del Mobile 2018 realized in collaboration with the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano.
An experience with a high rate of adrenaline, 4 distinct moments, 1 location in the heart of Zona Tortona, a new way to enhance the VANS Brand Pillar developed by the young designers from the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano , an experience to be experienced in one of the most creative and engaging events on an international level: the Fuorisalone of Milan Design Week.
For VANS a new way of approaching its users in a creative and real process, for the School of Design a new opportunity to provide students with a concrete and professionalizing project opportunity.
59 students of the third year of the School of Design, coming from the Communication, Interior, Product and Fashion Bachelor Courses, selected through an online call in which they were asked to describe their vision and experience in relation to VANS.
There were several project phases: a launch Hackathon, a 2-week concept generation, a one-week Flipped Class workshop and finally the opportunity to follow the grounding of the projects until the event was realized.
From the six ideas of the youngsters, a dense experience with great emotional and experiential value arose, an architectural and spatial bet, a new communicative figure with a non-invasive technological dimension. An event in contrast, almost old school, which promises to leave you breathless. Come and try the designers’ drop in.
The work was followed by a staff of excellence which involved the entire Brand and Retail Marketing VANS EMEA staff headed by Dirk Jacobs, Creative Director EMEA and the POLIMI staff composed of Venanzio Arquilla, Giulia Gerosa and Umberto Tolino supported by Emanuele Magini, Martina Mazzarello, Angela Mazzotti, Paolo Panzuti Bisanti.
